La Venta Inn

Nestled in the hills above the Palos Verdes Peninsula, La Venta Inn is a beautifully restored 1920’s Spanish villa offering the best of California — award-winning catering from New York Food Company, panoramic views of Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean, and incredible sunsets as the backdrop memorable weddings.  La Venta Inn features a courtyard entrance perfect for cocktails, a Great Room with magnificent stone fireplace, domed ceilings, unique Spanish architecture, and windows that overlook the ocean. Verandas

Located on the waterfront, Bluewater Grill is the perfect location for your next event. Our two private rooms have views of King Harbor and can accommodate gatherings of 25 – 120 guests.   The Avalon Room can seat up to 120 guests and for a more intimate setting, the Captain’s Cabin can seat up to 60.

Vanilla Bake Shop

We could not be more excited to have Vanilla Bake Shop as part of The Love #3 at Shade Hotel. Check out Vanilla Bakeshop’s story below. Don’t you worry all of their sweets taste just as amazing as they look.

The inspiration for all our desserts at Vanilla began with my mom. She had a way of surprising our family with homemade cakes and sweets all the time. It was her thoughtfulness and my sweet tooth that inspired me to start baking many years ago.

Shortly after I graduated culinary school, my husband Jeremy and I partnered together, and started a dessert catering company. Over the years we have had the pleasure of catering and baking for some fantastic companies, charities, families, celebrities, weddings, kids, special events, and friends.

We had such great feedback, and loved the baking business so much that we decided to open Vanilla Bake Shop. The name was concocted years ago in culinary school. While in class one day, my instructor told us that “Vanilla was the worlds most universally loved flavor.” We knew when the time was right, that would be the name of our bake shop.

We always bake with love, from scratch, with a focus on contemporary design and taste. The memories from our moms’ kitchens have been recreated through Vanilla in a way that is new yet familiar. We hope you will stop by and say hi, while enjoying our Cupcakes, Cakes, and Confections.
